Emphasizing the significance of Jataka tales as the core of an evolving Buddhist philosophy, the book foregrounds a new approach of studying Ajanta caves as the site and carrier of cultural communication. Encompassing a holistic understanding of material cultures, murals and tales in Ajanta, the author reflects on art as a means of communication to spread the ethos of culture and tradition.
